Hamson Barron Smith worked in partnership with NPS Group and Exeter City Football Club as part of the design team which developed the proposals and secured planning consent for this challenging site. We were also responsible for the efficient floodlighting, amenity lighting and the rationalisation of the site electrical supply.
The flood lights were selected and orientated to ensure zero upward light spill whilst complying with FIFA’s Class II facility requirements.
The pitch is a state-of-the-art 3G facility and one of the first in the country that incorporates a cork infill rather than the usual SBR rubber crumb, providing superior playing performance. It also provides a spectator area, and can be used all year round.
The project was delivered on time, within budget and to a very high standard ensuring the Club could maintain training over the winter period.
