Nar Valley Park is a new development of one hundred and fifty homes located within the Nar Ouse Regeneration Area in Kings Lynn.
Providing a mix of Code 4 and Code 3 homes for private sale and affordable rent the first phase of fifty five homes was completed in 2014. The client body is a joint venture between between Kings Lynn Borough Council and Norfolk County Council, with a clear brief to provide a vibrant and sustainable community.
The masterplan employs common urban forms (crescent, mews, avenue, park) to create identity and hierarchy within the streetscapes. These forms are further enhanced by house types which add carefully considered detail and scale to the proposals. These approaches are incorporated into a clear concept of perimeter blocks which provide intimate and secure parking courts to the rear of homes.
The site is also located next to the River Ouse and has required a carefully thought out landscape lead flood risk mitigation strategy.
