Sarah Lewis set to chair Passivhaus event Wednesday, 2 September, 2020

Passivhaus expert Sarah Lewis, Associate Director – Architecture at our Hamson Barron Smith (HBS) office in Edinburgh, is set to chair an interactive online session exploring educational buildings in Scotland.

The event – ‘Passivhaus for Educational Buildings: Scottish policy and case studies’ – which will take place on 9 September, is the second in a four-part series from the Passivhaus Trust, following the launch of their latest campaign aimed at encouraging the adoption of the Passivhaus standard for education buildings.

With the Government setting ambitious targets to reduce carbon emissions, Passivhaus has been championed as a way of radically reducing energy consumption in the built environment. The two-hour session will delve into the policy landscape for educational buildings in Scotland, as well as why and how to deliver Passivhaus schools from the viewpoints of clients, architects and contractors.
