Hamson Barron Smith appointed to East Suffolk Council’s Deben Development project Wednesday, 13 July, 2022
Norse’s specialist multidisciplinary design consultancy Hamson Barron Smith (HBS) has been successfully appointed to East Suffolk Council’s Deben Development project.
Following a highly competitive tender process, HBS was selected to provide Development and Project Management services on the housing development phase of the programme, to ensure the project is delivered effectively.
This exciting scheme will focus on the former Deben High School site, Felixstowe, where a mixed-use development is planned.
Split into four phases, it will include new, highly sustainable, affordable housing and leisure facilities, including a sports hub to meet local community needs.
The ambition for the project is to create a flagship scheme with the health and wellbeing of residents at its heart.
One of the first housing schemes since Suffolk Coastal District and Waveney merged to become East Suffolk Council in 2019, it will be a pilot development for the council.
Simon Hersey, Chief Operating Officer of Norse Consulting, said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with East Suffolk Council on this exciting project that will provide a sustainable and community focused mixed use development. We are confident that the vision and commitment of the Council coupled with the experience and skills of Hamson Barron Smith will ensure a successful flagship scheme”.
