Carrowbreck shortlisted for Eco Home Award Tuesday, 7 March, 2017
Carrowbreck Meadow has been shortlisted in the Norwich and Norfolk Eco Awards 2017.
The scheme is in the running for the Eco Home Award, which celebrates homes which are fundamentally environmentally friendly or retro-fitted with energy efficiency measures to ensure a minimal impact of the environment.
This 14-dwelling Passivhaus project is innovative in its design, achieving full Passivhaus certification on a scale rarely seen in the UK, and a thermal bridge and draught free building envelope which exceeds regulations for airtightness five times over. The properties have been carefully grouped so the development sits comfortably in its woodland setting, while the positioning and orientation of the homes maximises the access to solar gain in winter and prevents over heating in summer.
Winners will be announced at an official awards ceremony held at The Forum, Norwich on 16 March.
