This Sixth Form Centre provides top of the class education facilities for over 2,000 16 to 19 year old students.

We worked in conjunction with Turner & Townsend and for the client’s Suffolk County Council from 2006 when the development won funding. The client’s objectives were to develop an inclusive and inspirational Learning Centre which sits at the heart of a collaborative learning community where all talents and achievements are valued.  The Centre should also be designed in an innovative manner to mirror a fresh approach which the Centre would take to education.

Due to the close proximity of a near-by dual carriageway, natural ventilation would not be possible to teaching spaces and as such we engineered solutions using low energy and sustainable technologies wherever possible to reduce energy consumption across the site whilst maintaining internal comfort conditions.

The project was procured on a two stage Design and Build contract which was won by ISG Jackson at Stage D. Our Building Services Engineering team novated to ISG’s Construction Team to complete the design and subsequently the monitoring of the works on site.
