The existing 1970’s Shoreham Community Centre was refurbished and doubled in size to provide a new foyer, council chamber, offices, and meeting rooms. The Centre is home for Adur Council, the Citizens Advice Bureau, and several voluntary sector organisations.

A Community Centre housed within the existing building shares the new main reception area and benefits from several improvements such as a new commercial kitchen.

We provided Mechanical, Electrical and Public health design consultancy services for the project from feasibility through design and build tender, and then construction and handover.

The main challenge for the design and construction team was to keep the existing building operational whilst the new extension and refurbishment works were undertaken. This was achieved by careful planning and programming of the works, together with separate systems serving the new build element.
